I am a graduate of the University of Massachusetts with a B.S. in Biology as well as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. My love for science and the way the body functions started when I was very young, and grew exponentially as I went though many trials and tribulations of pain and suffering with no “diagnosable” cause, as stated by several conventional medicine doctors during multiple hospital visits. At this time I was certainly not the picture of health, eating mostly processed foods, sugary beverages and working at the town’s best-fried food joint. I was also suffering from an emotionally spurred eating disorder, which gained control of my life for nearly 8 years. Conversely, I was extremely active, going to the gym every day, participating in various sports, and always adventuring outdoors. Somehow, I truly believed that my level of “fitness” would cancel out all of the other negative factors and allow me to maintain my health. While I may have looked healthy from the outside, the internal damage and chaos that was going on inside my body had run me close to my deathbed.
At that point, I realized a change needed to happen. I found an incredible holistic doctor and began one of the most rewarding and eye opening journeys to recovery and self-growth. During this time I was formally (and easily) diagnosed with several autoimmune conditions including Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriasis and Raynaud’s disease. I thought to myself, “great now I will have to deal with these conditions for the rest of my life”, before learning that these diseases can be managed and reversed through proper nutrition.
Not long after my healing journey began I began to delve into any information I could possibly learn about how the body can heal itself. I listened to podcasts every day by the world’s leading wellness professionals and eventually found myself bursting at the seams to share my newfound knowledge with anyone who I thought could benefit, and that was: everyone. The message was so complex yet so simple, our bodies are made to heal themselves. Diagnoses are not terminal. We influence our bioindividual makeup with every molecule that enters our bodies and every emotion we feel. All we need is the knowledge, the tools and the gumption to make choices that create positive changes in our biology, and that’s why I am here.
My purpose is to help people understand that they can live more optimally than they ever imagined. I hope to provide a glimpse into the world of natural healing, in hopes that many more people will understand that they can and should feel better in their bodies. As someone who went from inconceivable pain and suffering, to now thriving and continuing to grow stronger as a competitive athlete, that regaining wellness is possible if you’re open to learning and investing in the health and happiness of yourself.
